Wij kweken zelf al vanaf 2000 met drie soorten (nu 29 volwassen) Blauwtongskinken.

De paringen zijn omstreeks januari / februari en de geboorte is dan vanaf juni in hetzelfde jaar.
Het aantal jongen per worp varieert van twee tot wel twee en twintig stuks.
Dit zijn de makkelijkste en tamste skinken om te verzorgen.
Mannetje / Vrouwtje is bij deze skinken heel moeilijk vast te stellen. Kijk maar op: What sex is my skink?
Zelfs een starter kan hier zonder problemen mee beginnen.
Het verzorgen is zeer gemakkelijk en ze eten bijna alles.
In de winterperiode (rustperiode) eten ze beduidend minder.
Zeer geschikt voor kinderen (natuurlijk onder begeleiding van ouders en/of verzorgers).
De wetenschappelijke naam is Tiliqua gigas Evanescens (licht bruine kleur met rode buik) ook wel de Merauke Gigas genoemd afkomstig van Oostelijk en Zuidelijk Papoea-Nieuw-Guinea, Irian Jaya (Indonesië).
En we kweken met Tiliqua gigas Gigas (donker gekleurde noordelijke blauwtongskinken van Nieuw Guinea).
Sinds dit Jaar (2021) kweken we ook met Tiliqua scincoides Chimaera (Tanimbar skinken). Deze kunnen soms wel meer als 20 jongen werpen.
Deze komen voor op een kleine eilandengroep in de Molukken. Ze zijn ook wat kleiner, en veel lichter gekleurd tot zelfs zilverachtig.

The mating is around January / February and the birth is from June in the same year. The number of young per litter varies from two to twenty two.
These are the easiest and tame skinks to care for. Male / Female is very difficult to determine with these skinks.

Even a starter can start with this without any problems.
Grooming is very easy and they will eat almost anything.
In the winter period (rest period) they eat significantly less.
Very suitable for children (of course under the supervision of parents and / or carers).
The scientific name is Tiliqua gigas Evanescens (light brown color with red belly) also called the Merauke Gigas from Eastern and Southern Papua New Guinea, Irian Jaya (Indonesia).
And we breed with Tiliqua gigas Gigas (dark colored northern blue-tongued skink).
This year (2021) we also breath with Tiliqua scincoides Chimaera (Tanimbar skink).The litter account can even acceed more than twenty baby's.
These occur on a small island group in the Moluccas. They are also a bit smaller and much lighter in color to even silvery.
